Osteoporosis is something which can affect us all. It is more common in women than men but that doesn’t mean it affects women exclusively. Osteoporosis is a condition where bone density decreases, and this can cause bone to weaken and to fracture more easily. It happens often without us even realising and the first diagnosis often comes after a minor incident where a fracture has occurred.

The risk of osteoporosis can be lessened by taking regular weight bearing exercise, eating a healthy balanced diet including foods rich in calcium and vitamin D, as well as not smoking and reducing alcohol intake.
